Dafni Karavola is a data journalist and visual investigator based in Athens, with a background in architectural engineering. She is interested in topics at the intersection of journalism and spatial practices. Currently, she participates in Reportes United reporting on Romani rights, state and corporate accountability and environmental issues using data, cartographic and OSINT techniques. She has previously collaborated with Forensic Architecture, among others.  She studied Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens and Research Architecture at Goldsmiths University, London, on a scholarship from the Eugenides Foundation. Recently, she specialized in computational journalism and data analysis at Columbia University in New York, on a Stavros Niarchos Foundation fellowship. She loves maps.
